About the fair

22 - 24 May 2018
Shenzhen, P. R. China

With nearly 1000 exhibitors, the China International Battery Fair (CIBF) in Shenzhen is one of the biggest exhibitions for the battery industry in the world. The first event was established in 1992 in Tianjin and will be held from May 22th to 24th already for the 13th time. CIBF is organised by the Chinese Industrial Association of Power Sources (CIAPS) every two years, alternating with the China International Battery, Raw Material, Producing Equipment and Battery Parts Fair in Beijing. The Show covers the whole battery industry. The focus is still on all kinds of battery products and battery technologies. In addition to that the exhibitors also present machinery and equipment, tools, inspection equipment, software, automation technologies, materials and recycling technologies for the battery production. With the rising importance of China for battery industry and as a production location also for large form factors, we believe that CIBF will gain international importance in the coming years. An accompanying conference is an additional incentive for visitors.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) decides on, and supports, official participations in the Federal Republic of Germany's international trade fairs and exhibition programme. In addition to policy and budgetary issues, the active involvement in the presentation of Germany at international fairs and exhibitions is of prime importance. In a constant dialogue with private-sector partners, the division for international / national trade fairs and exhibitions of the ministry backs the export activities of German industry on international markets.

Furthermore, the "fairs and exhibitions division" is concerned with planning and implementing German participation in world expositions abroad and with major political issues regarding fairs and exhibitions in Germany.

The Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, AUMA, represents the interests of the trade fair industry on a national and international level in dealings with parliament, ministries, authorities and other organisations.

The association organises the official German trade fair programme abroad in close cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Ministry of Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture.

As part of this programme, the Federal Government provides financial assistance for German participations at foreign events, but also for independent presentations by German industry abroad.
