About us
In 2023, the teamtechnik, BBS, Kahle and HEKUMA brands combined forces to become the „Production Automation“ Business Unit in the Dürr Group, with 2,500 employees at 20 sites worldwide. To further strengthen our cooperation, we will operate under a single, uniform brand, “BBS Automation”, from June 2025. Together, we are offering a comprehensive portfolio for a wide-range of sectors, from insertion and take-out technology to feeder technology, assembly and test lines and palletizing systems – solutions from a single source, worldwide.
From the cell to the module to the pack: our portfolio in battery production comprises standardized assembly solutions including comprehensive testing technologies along the process chain. Starting with the EOL test within battery cell production, our systems manage all further steps such as sorting, insulating and packaging. Within the production systems for battery modules, all necessary process steps such as cell preparation, contacting, potting and final assembly as well as all electrical and optical tests are integrated. Our solutions for housing assembly, for example, include all housing handling, leak detection and final inspection steps.

Battery Production Portfolio: From Cell to Module onwards to Pack
Our Assembly and Test Systems Portfolio includes extensive process steps that require reliable and high-quality battery production. We prioritize leveraging global production and service networks for efficient battery manufacturing. The systems are designed for all cell types and customer requirements, ranging from manual to highly automated production lines, based on flexibility needs. We provide a comprehensive testing portfolio tailored to product and customer requirements, encompassing electrical tests like OCV, internal resistance, ACIR, DCIR, and optical inspections.
Stack and Cell Assembly and Cell Finishing: We offer End-of-Line (EOL) testing in both Cell Assembly and Cell Finishing. Our systems are particularly notable for their various feeding concepts, reliable testing, insulation application and sorting options by several parameter. Cell cleaning methods such as plasma activation, blowing and suction, or laser cleaning are also part of our assembly and testing equipment.
