About us
The machine for progress in hydrogen and batteries - HELD Double Belt Press
HELD is a mechanical engineering company in South Germany. It is one of the world's leading companies focusing on developing and constructing isobaric double belt press plants.
Our customers use our plants to produce a wide range of composites such as thermoplastics, organosheets, carbon and glass fibers in various sectors such as electronics, energy (Fuel Cell, electrolysis), automotive, aerospace, ballistics, and furniture.
Our continuous production process involves pressing, laminating, and consolidating the materials and stands out for its high efficiency to ensure above-average product quality.
In our Technology Park, we provide two fully equipped double belt press plants for R&D work. The machines can be hired for production runs.
We recognized the potential of hydrogen at an early stage and built the first press for this purpose back in 1999. In cooperation with various premium battery manufacturers, we develop the production of different types of batteries further.
Are you ready for the power of isobaric double belt presses from HELD?

On 26 September 2024, HAILEY celebrated its premiere as part of our 75th company anniversary celebrations - a significant day in the history of HELD. HAILEY is the first machine of the new generation and has a completely new design and many highlights. Over 100 innovative ideas have been realised during development - the result is something to be proud of!

A modern user interface based on current user experience requirements makes it easier to operate the already highly automated double belt press. Settings such as ‘Automatic machine start at time X’ and smart maintenance work can be scheduled via the new HMI. Automation leads to increased productivity and optimised machine utilisation.

Double belt presses from HELD are the ideal production systems for the continuous production of sheet and plate materials when using the through-feed method. Using various processes, such as continuous laminating, compacting, consolidation and smoothing, they allow different materials to be processed, such as films, fabrics, mats of fibres, granulates or powders. In each case, the respective components are run through the press between two endless steel belts – either individually or together. At the intake and the outlet, these steel belts are looped around heated steel drums. Pressure plates, with which heat and pressure are applied to the conveyed materials, are located between them in the so-called reaction zone. The temperature zones can be individually adjusted.

The LED strip is the visual highlight and eye-catcher of the new generation. The significant light curve shows the temperature inside the reaction zone based on software that calculates the current temperature and outputs a corresponding colour as a ‘heat equivalent’. The gradient can be customised according to customer requirements.

Revolutionary belt and seal change - More time for the essentials: Your material! A new spindle concept simplifies the replacement of steel belts and seals. The spindles, which connect the upper and lower press structure, can be raised completely. A significantly reduced maintenance time leads to less downtime and cuts costs

Highly reduced energy consumption: Intelligent energy recovery, especially in the high-temperature range. Design-related space saving thanks to a new secondary circuit unit. New pressure medium unit that uses resources according to consumption. Reduced downtime thanks to predictable maintenance & new spindle concept
